First up in our Kid's Room Decor week is a Reading Pillow. A wonderful concept that we found whilst in the process of making a decor pillow!
This simple product is a very useful one indeed. Kids need attractive things all around their rooms to give them inspiration. This pillow not only plays that role but will also motivate the kids to pick up a book to read once in a while because well, they'll get to use the cute pillow! Another great part is that it is a lap pillow which will put the book at an appropriate distance for the kids to read.
So, follow our step-by-step picture tutorial to make this beauty!

Supplies needed: Old outgrown piece of clothing with a cute print, Scissors, Fabric Glue, Black felt sheet/ small piece of black cloth, needle and thread.
Step 1: Take an outgrown frock of your daughter or a similar piece of clothing of your kid.
Step 2: Cut two same sized heart shapes from the frock.
Step 3: Stitch the two heart shaped clothes from inside and leave a little gap anywhere (in this case at the bottom) to insert the filling.
Step 4: Turn the heart inside out and fill the fiber filling inside. Lastly stick the edges with fabric glue or stitch them.
Step 5: Cut the eyes with black felt sheet or any black cloth and paste it with fabric glue.
Step 6: Now stick any matching lace all around the cushion to hide the stitches and add more cuteness.
Step 7: Cut the straps of frock as shown in image.
Step 8: Stitch the straps to the backside of cushion. These straps will act as handles to carry the cushion.
Your reading pillow is now ready! Enjoy!
