Hello everybody!
The theme for this week of our 3-ka-Fun series is ‘Learning about Money’. Since we all know that money is a vital concept and it is of utmost importance to teach kids about being mindful with it. However, these lessons are to be taken one step at a time. You cannot teach a small kid about using money wisely because they first need to be taught about the concept of it. Hence, under this theme we’ll have 3 activities addressing 3 different levels of teaching kids about money.
Our first project is a Money Combination Stacker. It is to teach kids about different mathematical combinations which they can use to get a particular number and we’ll be doing this using coins. Starting small, we’ll be making this chart up till INR 12 for this project. Slowly and gradually you can increase it and teach kids higher values too!
Supplies needed: Plain white paper, stationary items, some crayons and coins of all denominations.
Step 1: Draw a square grid of 4x3 (columns X rows).
Step 2: Number the columns 1 to 12 with a black pen as shown.
Step 3: Colour each column with different shade crayon to add that pop.
The game is now ready to play! We have a video to show you how our kid enjoyed playing with it and learned along the way!
