How often do we think of ideas to teach our children basic things? We have personally been on a constant lookout for creative things that can help us do the same. Anything and everything be it numbers, days, words etc. need to be taught to the children and they learn fast and have clear concepts if things are explained to them creatively using props. We sometimes have to use creativity to make them eat food, teaching things is a different level altogether!
So, we recently thought of this idea to teach the concept of today-tomorrow to my child. This wheel however solved dual purpose and also helped her remember the days of the week! That’s why it is in true sense, Wheel of the Week!

Step 1: Assemble the supplies as have been mentioned above.
Step 2: Take a scrap cardboard and make a circle on it using a quarter plate. Cut 2 such circles of the same size.
Step 3: Paint one circle in black colour and other one in yellow colour.
Step 5: Measure circle as in you’ll be dividing it into 7 equal parts from the centre.
Step 4: Using that measure, cut 5 adjacent triangles in the yellow circle cardboard (but maintain some gap) and cut 7 triangles from the different coloured sheets.
Step 6: Place these 7 colourful triangles together on top of the black cardboard circle but maintain some gap. Paste them together and cut the excess.
**Please take a note that the gap between triangles should be greater in the yellow circle cardboard than in the coloured triangles because former will come on the top.
Step 7: Write days of the week in order on these 7 triangles.
Step 8: Write titles on the 5 triangles cut in the yellow cardboard circle namely, ‘Day before yesterday’, ‘yesterday’, ‘today’, ‘tomorrow’ and ‘day after tomorrow’.
Step 9: Attach both the circles together with a board pin in the center (yellow circle on top of the colourful one).
Step 10: Your Wheel of the Week is now ready!
BONUS: We have also shown how our kid is enjoying playing with it! Enjoy!
