We have all seen various versions of TETRIS present everywhere online. It has been famous amongst the 80s & 90s kids as part of their video game packages and amongst the millennial who got to play this game online. With advent of apps, it has been more than accessible to anyone and everyone to play anytime.
However, during the lockdown period when children are already so exposed to screen because of all the online classes going on, giving them extra screen time is not very comfortable thing for parents. As is said, desperate times call for desperate measures! So, we decided to create a DIY version for TETRIS. This allows the kids to play and still be off screen!
Follow the step-by-step tutorial below to learn how to make it.
Supplies needed:
Step 1: Assemble all the supplies as have been shown above.
Step 2: Make a grid having squares of 2cm each on the white paper.
Step 3: Stick this sheet on the scrap cardboard.
Step 4: Cut 2 cms wide stripes of A4 size black foam sheet.
Step 5: Stick these black stripes on the edges of the cardboard around the white sheet (Step 3). Cut the excess of the black stripes.
Step 6: Make grid of 2 cm each on the coloured foam sheets exactly same in size as we have drawn on the white sheet.
Step 7: Cut these coloured foam sheets in different shapes and sizes.
Step 8: Alternatively, you can do step 6 and 7 also on white sheet and then do colouring activity with your kids.
Step 9: Write TETRIS on the top black stripe with stickers or markers or paints. The DIY Tetris is now ready!
BONUS: We have also shown how our kid is enjoying playing with it! Enjoy!
